Description
TREATMENT OF EXCESSIVE SWEATING (HYPERHIDROSIS)
HOW DOES BOTULINUM TOXIN WORK?
For cosmetic purposes, Botulinum toxin type A is used, which is diluted approximately 1000 times and is not toxic in this form. It temporarily blocks the sweat glands in the treated area, preventing them from producing sweat during this period.
However, sweat production and therefore the body’s natural cooling process continue to function normally in other areas of the body.
WHAT CAN AND CANNOT I DO AFTER BOTULINUM TOXIN TREATMENT?
Every patient is informed about specific aftercare instructions following the procedure. After the treatment, the following should be avoided:
-
excessive physical activity
-
sauna visits
-
alcohol consumption for two days
-
touching the treated area
